Trust Academy landed a hand to the Harare Children’s home which was ravaged by catastrophic fire, resulting in destruction of a block that housed forty children. Trust Academy donated sixty blankets and sixty throw overs in response to the tragic incident.
The unfortunate blaze has not only left the children homeless, but it has also rendered them without some basic essentials. A plethora of other necessities which includes furniture, blankets, sheets, clothes, school shoes, uniforms and toys suitable for children ranging from infants to eighteen years were all lost in the fire.
Presenting the donation to the Harare Children’s Home Director, Mrs Pfungwa Chamanga the Trust Academy Registrar said, “We were deeply saddened as an institution to hear about the devastating fire. On behalf of the Managing Director Mr Taurayi Mataka we decided to give back to the community and we hope this will bring relief to the affected children as they recover from this traumatic event’’.
Mrs Sithole The Director of Harare Children's Home, expressed her gratitude to the College for their kind support. She said the blankets will go a long way in providing comfort to the children who have lost so much. It is heart warming to see the community helping in this difficult time.
She further appealed to individuals, organizations and businesses to assist by providing school provisions such as uniforms, shoes, stationary and satchels.
Trust academy will always continue in fostering compassion and social responsibility and will lead in promoting a culture of giving back to the community.
