High School students return to class for third term
It was all hugs and smiles when students arrived for their final term of 2023. Speaking to some of the students, the majority shared that it was all serious business from day one of this term. Teachers stated that there was no time to waste, it is now the time to focus on final revision for the topics that students did not master well.
According to the Headmaster Mr. Blessing Mangere, the school officially started third term on a positive note. He emphasized that this term is an exam season, and they are giving their students a lot of help. This is the last exam preparation period for the exam classes.
Teachers are embracing the active learner learning style this term, with students taking the lead and teachers serving as facilitators.
For the Ordinary and Advanced level Cambridge students, the exams begin in the first week of October, while for ZIMSEC students, they begin in the middle of the second week of October. For the ZIMSEC candidates, the school completed CALA moderation in July; they have already submitted them, and they are now expecting external CALA moderators. Given that pupils require time to read, the school has designated Wednesdays, Fridays afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays for group discussions and reading time.
For none exams classes, learning is going on as usual, and they are concentrating on covering the syllabus. In addition, they are attending to non-academic learner concerns with the goal of preparing graduates who can survive the current economic environment by nurturing the students' talents. Students will therefore participate in club activities.
The Headmaster concluded that they are working tirelessly striving for excellency and wished everyone a happy term.
