Female graduates make up the majority at the 4th Trust Academy graduation ceremony.

Trust Academy hosted its 4th Graduation Ceremony on Friday the 8th of December at Belvedere Technical Teachers College in Harare. 

 

 

                                                              

 

This momentous occasion was graced by Midlands State University, Pro Vice Chancellor – Research, Innovation and Industrialization, Professor Grace Mugumbate who officiated at the ceremony. Also in attendance were the Executive Deans for Faculty of Science and Technology and Faculty of Business Sciences, Dr A. Nechibvute and Dr. M. Mugwati, respectively.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony the Principal for Trust Academy Mr. Mark Dembure said, “We are very excited that the gender distribution of those being conferred with various diplomas today reflect the Midlands State University’s Gender Policy. We have more women graduating after rigorous training over the past three years, especially from the Faculty of Business Sciences under the able leadership of a lady, Dr. Mugwati.”

The Principal highlighted that students who want to further their studies can proceed to Midlands State University to pursue degree studies. Those who would have decided to procced in the same area of specialization will be exempted from the first year. Mr. Dembure also appreciated the hard work and efforts of the Trust Academy lecturers and staff who made the academic journey for the graduates successful.

The graduation ceremony was for Trust Academy students studying courses offered in collaboration with Midlands State University. The courses include Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership, Diploma in Applied Accounting, Diploma in Applied Business Administration, Diploma in Applied Entrepreneurship, Diploma in Applied Marketing, Diploma in Networking and PC Engineering, Diploma in Telecommunications and Diploma in Management Information Systems.

The same occasion witnessed graduands on courses offered in collaboration with Great Zimbabwe University receiving their diplomas in Community Development and Topflight Executive Office Administration. While the Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management under the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality students also received their diplomas from Dr. G.T. Hapanyengwi, the chairperson of the Trust Academy Board of Trustees.

Speaking after the graduation Mr Tendai Nyambo from Bulawayo who was graduating with a Diploma in Applied Marketing, said he was very happy to graduate. “I earned the Trust Academy Book Prize, for best student, and I am grateful for that. The journey was challenging but I made it, I would want to thank all our lecturers for the support they gave us”.

Rumbidzai Kelly Muriva another graduate who received a Diploma in Applied Accounting said,” I’m feeling proud of myself today. I am very happy this is only by God’s grace. I hope in the future I will be able to further up my studies.”
